The Iaido seminar will run Thursday and Friday. Saturday is a taikai. Sunday morning is a shinsa.

The event hotel is the Home2 Suites by Hilton SLC-East, 2350 S Foothill Dr, Salt Lake City (map).

The hotel is a 9-minute drive from the Student Life Center.
Lunches will be available Thursday – Saturday. Cost per day is $15.
Your seminar registration includes one free t-shirt (select your size during registration).

The Welcome Party will be Wednesday, 6:30 – 8:30 pm at the New Golden Dragon, 1716 South State Street,
Salt Lake City. The cost is $15 per person.
The Sayonara party will be held on Saturday night at the New Golden Dragon. The cost is $35 per person.
Mazkiya USA will be at the seminar.
The registration deadline is Tuesday, May 14.

A competition will be held on Saturday. The taikai is limited to AUSKF members.
Competition will by rank-by-rank, from Mudansha through 6 dan.
Taikai fee: $25

Taikai format
Mudansha to 3 dan: 5 AJKF Shitei-waza in 6 minutes
4, 5 dan: 1 Koryu kata + 4 AJKF shitei-waza in 6 minutes
6 dan: 2 Koryu kata + 3 AJKF shitel-waza in 6 minutes
If you do not sit, you will do standing versions of AJKF seated waza. There will not be a separate set of kata for those who do not sit.
In order to participate in taikai, you MUST wear a Zekken, with your name in English at the bottom.
Dojo or Federation name at the top.
You must be a member of AUSKF in good standing to participate in the Taikai.
An Iaido promotion test will be held on Sunday morning, for examination up to 5 Dan.
Shinsa format
First test to 3 dan: 5 AJKF Shitei-waza in 6 minutes
4, 5 dan: 1 Koryu kata + 4 AJKF shitei-waza in 6 minutes
If you do not sit, you will do standing versions of AJKF seated waza. There will not be a separate set of kata for those who do not sit.
AUSKF shinsa and certificate fees will used. Shinsa (testing) fee should be included in seminar check. Menjo fee should be in a separate check. All checks go to Steve Sasaki.
