The Canadian Kendo Federation, in conjunction with the Etobicoke Kendo/Iaido Club and Mu Mon Kai Iaido Club, is proud to host this fall's CKF Central - Fall Seminar, Taikai, and Grading (Shinsa).

The event will focus on providing exposure and experience to the challenges of taking AND judging exams and tournaments.

Etobicoke Olympium in Toronto, ON.
The event will be held in the lower level, fitness centre.

SCHEDULE and LOGISTICS

Parking is free on-site. Follow the signs through the front door, and downstairs to the dojo. Check-in will open at 8:00am, please make sure you come early to get your sword checked. Opening ceremonies for both days will begin sharply at 8:30am

Tentative seminar/grading schedule (Dec 2) as follows:
08:30 - 12:00 -- Seminar (Judging & Key Points for Shinsa)
12:00 - 12:30 -- Lunch
12:30 - 14:00 -- Grading/Shinsa
14:00 - 16:00 -- Seminar (Judging & Key Points for Taikai)

This event will feature one of the largest gatherings of 6-Dan+ Sensei at a seminar in North America. Take advantage of the minimal teacher-student ratio to ask questions and get personalized instruction!

Tentative tournament schedule (Dec 3) as follows:
08:30 - 09:00 -- Opening Ceremonies & Demonstration
09:00 - 12:00 -- Taikai (Junior ranks, matches up to semi-finals)
12:00 - 12:45 -- Lunch & Senior warm-ups
12:45 - 14:00 -- Taikai (Senior ranks & finals)
15:30 - 16:00 -- Awards & Closing Ceremonies

The taikai is open to any member of an FIK-affiliated organization (ex. CKF, AUSKF). Members must have their dues fully paid up to participate.
All participants 4-Dan and above will be called upon to judge. For full details, including past results, please see the Mu Mon Kai Iaido Taikai site.

GRADING (SHINSA)

Exam will go up to 5-Dan. For ALL grading/shinsa information, please visit the CKF website here: http://kendo-canada.com/forms.html

FOOD AND LODGING

Purchased bento lunches will be provided in a designated eating area at the Olympium
A Friendship Banquet will be hosted at a restaurant to be determined.

DEADLINE FOR REGISTRATION

The seminar/taikai registration deadline will be Sunday, November 26, 2017 (late fee will apply).

You will need your CKF/AUSKF ID number to register. CKF members can register on this site by adding CA before their CKF ID -- For example, if your CKF LoginID is 9999, then your Shinken.cc ID will be CA9999.

Participation in either seminar or tournament is optional, even for grading candidates.

However, take advantage of this opportunity to combine your learning with practical experience. This is important for both technical growth: Learn -> Embu, as well as judging experience: Key Points -> Comparison.
